The organizing authority of the Global Ocean race has decided to open the 2013-14 race for single handed crews.
So now with the preso's coming up for the final proposal for sponsorship, my aims are becoming very clear.
1. A circumnavigation starting mid 2012, complete it well within 200 days, pick up enough experience on the way and then
2. Make it to as many small races before the Global Ocean race and then
3. Make it to the start line of the Global Ocean race 2013-14 on 10th November 2013.
Dreaming the above is the easier part. The hard part comes with convincing sponsors in time to stick to the schedule and also to continue supporting as I am out on the water.
A new website will be up very soon and I expect to the placing the order for the boat by year end. Whatever will happen till then only Neptune knows. Till then its time to hit the sea birds.
Have not heard from Dilip Donde or Abhilash Tomy about what the future beholds with Mhadei, but my attempt will be meet up with these men soon to discuss some future plans. Keeping up with my planned schedule will also mean going faster than these men.
From now on we are a few people working towards getting the sponsorships in place. Feel great with the support coming from Jayakumar and Santosh. These guys have come up with some great ideas and have really given the much required push for me to even start dreaming about ever being on the water.
